Whether you're planning a Handmaid's Tale Costume for Halloween, Cosplaying, or just love the fashion, I've scoured the internet to find the closest matches for Hulu's hit show 'The Handmaid's Tale' boots. Ever since the show premiered, I've been absolutely obsessed with the costuming and everything it represents. While the vast majority of 'The Handmaid's Tale' costumes are custom made by incredible designers (this includes the boots you see Offred, Ofglen, Janine [Ofwarren] and the other women wearing), you can find some pretty close matches online. And if you're willing to put in a little work, you can replicate them almost exactly.
The Handmaid's have two sets of boots: One 'slouch' style, and one more along the lines of work/low cut combat boots, also brown. Here are links to the closest matches. If you want to get more DIY'ish to get the slouch shoes as close as possible to the real deal, you'll want to buy a pair of brown footless slouch socks (or any rather long knee high socks and cut off the foot), to put over the boot.

I'm so psyched to find these boots. They remind me a lot of the type worn in 'The Handmaid's Tale', as they have the cuff and no laces. I read a new fascinating interview about how when designing The Handmaid's Tale boots, they removed the laces, the idea behind it being so the girls in Gilead couldn't use them to do harm to themselves, and sewed on a cuff. Just another form of oppression and everything being taken away. While the material is different, I definitely think boot would be great for THT Costume or cosplay. I'd wear it all winter! I just downloaded the audio book, and purchased a The Testaments in paperback (I like to follow along while I'm listening). I'm so excited, because the book is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. After I read it, I will be writing a full review. If anyone else would like to share their review, let me know- I'd be happy to post it. I love our little Handmaid's Tale family! Thank you, Ms. Atwood. I cannot even explain how happy I am to have a beautiful book, since I'm already feeling Season 3 withdrawrels. Seriously, how are we supposed to wait another YEAR?!
